Case Study

Since September 2002, NetStar-1 has provided information assurance (IA), security management, program management, and technical support services for the Air Force Surgeon General's Automated Information Systems (AIS). We directly support the Surgeon General's Information Assurance (IA) Branch with security issues such as the DoD Certification and Accreditation process (C&A). We represent the IA Branch on working groups and boards as the Subject Matter Experts, which consist of Military Health Services PKI/PKE Working Group, Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Program Group, the Senior Air Force Management Team (SAMT), and the Military Health Services Information Assurance Board. Additionally, NetStar-1's employees were instrumental in establishing the Air Force's Medical Systems Network Risk Assessment Certified Lab, where most of the systems are tested.
