Under this highly visible program, NetStar-1 provided equipment staging, configuration, deployment and installation services for this project – which will ultimately deploy more than 7000 IP phones to almost 1500 retail locations throughout the US. NetStar-1’s work is performed in collaboration with GPI’s telecommunications division. Specifically, NetStar-1 will: assist corporate management with the design and refinement of all processes, procedures, guidelines, and standards to be employed by field personnel for this project; order all necessary equipment, drop-shipped to the NetStar-1 staging facility for configuration, test and burn-in; deploy equipment to remote facilities as directed by the store lineup plan; install equipment at CARQUEST’s retail locations, including site turn-up, site testing and acceptance by the store manager; coordinate and communicate with management staff on progress, issues, and status; ensure that all processes, procedures, guidelines, and standards are consistently followed by all parties within NetStar-1 control; and manage and track all field installation services.

The nationwide VoIP Deployment Program was completed ahead of schedule and within budget, and has been a remarkable achievement for client management and staff. NetStar-1 continues to play a key role in supporting CARQUEST’s IT initiatives, with projects that have included security assessments; data center design and relocation; on-going network design and deployment services and other mission-critical tasks that are performed in close collaboration with client teams.
