Leading IT provider validated for expertise in design, implementation and support of complex network security solutions
Rockville, MD. April 02, 2007 — NetStar-1, Inc., a premier IT solutions provider to government and commercial clients, today announced that it has earned the Advanced Security Specialization from Cisco® Systems. The Advanced Security Specialization is held by fewer than 30 Cisco partners across the U.S. and distinguishes NetStar-1 as part of an elite group recognized for their expertise in providing integrated, collaborative, adaptive security solutions to meet Federal regulations and industry best practices.
The focus of the highly-coveted Advanced Security Specialization is on setting and maintaining the highest possible standards for sales, design, technical support and service in the implementation of the Cisco Self-Defending Network. The network is used to identify, respond and adapt to threats by integrating security technology and ensuring visibility across every aspect of the network.
"The number and sophistication of security threats and attacks is always increasing, both in private industry and the Federal Government,” said Chris Chroniger, Chief Technology Officer of NetStar-1. “It is absolutely vital that we meet our clients’ expectations in safeguarding them against these very credible threats."
The Advanced Security Specialization is the most recent in a series of key credentials achieved by NetStar-1, and covers the entire suite of Cisco security products. Partners who achieve this designation must undergo Cisco’s stringent qualification process, thereby demonstrating an ability to deliver established, repeatable, and proven processes for selling, delivering, and supporting Cisco solutions.
For NetStar-1, the Cisco Advanced Security Specialization complements the company’s existing Information Assurance and Security Solutions practices which encompass mission critical security services such as assessments and consulting, audits, validation and an array of product solutions. This enables the company to address an even broader range of customer needs. “Our Information Assurance expertise spans the entire Systems Development Lifecycle Management (SDLCM) process which guides the security compliance and engineering activities throughout the lifetime of a system.” Chroniger explains. “Our methodology ensures that the proper security components are analyzed, and appropriate controls are applied to protect network, system and information assets."
NetStar-1 is a Cisco Silver Partner and holds Cisco's Advanced Unified Communications Specialization. Previously, the company held Cisco's Routing & Switching, IP Communications and Wireless Specializations. NetStar-1 has been recognized multiple times by Cisco for Customer Satisfaction Excellence. NetStar-1's technical professionals hold industry recognized certifications including Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
