NetStar-1 Earns ISO 20000 Certification
Rockville, MD – August 28, 2009 - NetStar-1, Inc. has become only the 22nd organization in the United States to gain International Standards Organization (ISO) 20000 certification. ISO 20000 is a customer-focused international standard that contains the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices for information technology (IT) service management, for the most cost-effective and efficient service delivery. The ISO 20000 Standard promotes an integrated process approach to deliver managed service in order to meet requirements.
To gain certification, organizations must pass a challenging evaluation of their management practices conducted by an independent auditor. Incorporating NetStar-1’s ITIL best practices, this certification is a significant achievement that will provide greater cost savings, ongoing control, increased efficiencies as well as the continual improvement of IT Service management for NetStar-1 and its customers.
The company’s ISO 20000 initiative began in July 2008, and was led by NetStar-1’s Director of Quality and Innovation. Less than a year after beginning preparation, the company passed the formal assessment which was conducted by BSI Management Systems America, Inc. The scope of the registration includes the implementation and management of an Information Technology Service Management System that conforms to the ISO 20000 Standard for the provision of IT Services, Project/Program Management, Service Desk Services, Call Center Services, and Network Planning and Management Services, including network and systems engineering, design, delivery and security services. NetStar-1 will continue to be audited by a third party twice per year to ensure the continuing compliance with the ISO 20000 Standard.
