NetStar-1 Support for Naval Supply Information Systems Extended

Rockville, Md. – October 27, 2008 – The Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg, Pa., has exercised the first six-month option period of its contract with NetStar-1 for information technology services supporting the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), the organization responsible for providing supply support to U.S. Navy forces worldwide. With the contract extension, NetStar-1 will continue the support it has provided over the last year for NAVSUP’s Navy Supply Information Systems Activity (NAVSISA).

NAVSISA provides information technology services for the Navy, Department of Defense and other federal agencies. NAVSISA's primary responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain information systems supporting numerous activities in the functional areas of logistics, supply chain management, transportation, finance, and accounting.

NetStar-1's services supporting NAVSISA include developing an identity management user interface for the Identity Management System; integrating the existing NAVSUP One Supply applications into the User Provisioning Identity Management System; and providing subject matter expert support to User Provisioning architects on new identity management techniques, such as the Oracle Identity Management Suite.
